5 Great Attractions for kids in Launceston

If you are traveling with the family to Launceston the following are five great kid friendly attractions that are perfect for the whole family.

Penny Royal

Penny royal is a location that tells the story of Tasmania's convict past, go fossicking for gold, control mini toy boats, go on a dark and scary ride which tells the story of events of the past, and go on an adventure up the side of a cliff with a cliff walk, climb jump, and a zipline

Cataract Gorge

Cataract Gorge is a great location with a swimming pool, the world's longest single span chairlift, playground, cafe and souvenir shop, and some great walking trails around the gorge.

You can take the chairlift one way or have a return trip as well, however I recommend a one way trip and then walk around the walking trails around the gorge to return back, you can walk up to the king's bridge, and if you're feeling adventurous you can take a moderate hike back with some elevated views over the gorge.

Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery

Explore what is a very family friendly museum including a planetarium, art gallery, dinosaur display, old trains, and a children's play area.

City Park

City Park is the perfect place to relax with plenty to explore, take a seat on the world's longest bench, take a ride on the City Park train, check out the conservatory, or observe the monkey enclosure, citipark is a must, centrally located in Launceston.

Grindelwald

Grindelwald is a fake Swiss village complete with a shopping centre, and many activities around including mini golf, paddle boats, bouncing pillows and pedal karts, as well as an electronic video game arcade complete with skill testers and racing car simulators.
